“Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them,

Worship

Lutheran worship puts the focus squarely on Jesus Christ, who is present for us and with us through His Word and Sacraments. Lutheran worship is, therefore, Christ-centered, not man-centered.

How a church conducts its worship is a reflection of what it believes, teaches and confesses.

Is there a Divine Service or part of liturgy that you are not acquainted with? Liturgy Audio files are provided so you may familiarize yourself with the music. A good folder to start is LSB Divine Service / 3 - Setting Three. Good idea: like us, use this at at home during family devotions. You can even download them to your music player as you gather around your hymnal and Bible.

Note to Parents of Small Children: We love your children!

An unsupervised nursery and quiet room / cry room are available at all service times. We have been taking some donations for it, and hope it will bless you so you may return to us soon: books for little ones, quiet toys, a changing pad.

Services can be heard in both the nursery and the cry room / quiet room. But PLEASE, start your children off in church first. (Bet you didn't think you'd hear that!)

You didn't learn to talk by being isolated from the community around you and neither will your children learn to worship by being isolated in a play room far away from their brothers and sisters in Christ (even if the brothers and sisters are much older than they are.) A little fussing in church never hurt anyone (except the ego of a Pastor using the church service as a recording studio.) And if you don't like to hear children fussing a bit in church, take it up with the One who made them that way!

Then again, dear parents, do be sensitive to those around you as well. It is a two way street. The body of Christ needs to be gracious toward you and you need to be understanding toward them as well. Plain old common sense and ordinary courtesy prevails. 'But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.' Matthew 19:14
